Amazon Rainforest is one of the greenest places in the world.
It has an incredible amount of plant life which is able to absorb CO2 from the air and store it for the seasons. Amazon Rainforest now emits more CO2 than it absorbs, that is a scary thought. What can we do to stop global warming or at least slow it down so it does not get worse.
The atmosphere is being polluted by all sorts of things. Cars, factories, power plants, even our very own homes create all kinds of pollutants in the air that are entering the atmosphere. We have to be careful what we put into the air. The pollution is getting worse every day.
But, because of the Amazon, we are seeing carbon dioxide going up much higher than normal. Because there are no large mountains in Amazon Rainforest to collect this excess CO2 and let it escape into the atmosphere. The higher levels of carbon dioxide are being created by human activity. They are also releasing methane gas from livestock, producing the so-called methane gas after burning.
